This is "Notsuharu Shokudo" in Fuchi-cho, Oita City. The batter was so crispy that I could hear the sound every time I bit into it. The meat inside is soft and juicy, and the juices are overflowing. The meat is marinated in garlic, soy sauce, and other seasonings. A large bowl of white rice is also served in the dish, which makes the meal go down a treat! The miso soup, with its many ingredients, the umami of the ingredients, the soup stock made from iriko and kombu seaweed, and the combined miso paste, is a comforting and filling combination. The miso soup is delicious and filling, and for 680 yen, it is very satisfying. This is a great price for a lunch in the city.

The restaurant is said to be crowded with workers in the area during lunch time. They also deliver boxed lunches and receive about 50 orders every day.

Bringing the Taste of Notsuharu to the City

Originally, Mr. Mori was involved in the management of a lodging facility called Uso Sanso, located in the nature-rich Notsuharu area of Oita City. However, after the Corona disaster, he faced a difficult situation. He was frustrated that he had fewer opportunities to serve delicious local food to his guests. So, he decided to open "Notsuharu Shokudo" in the center of the city, thinking, "If I can do it in a town center where people can pass by," he said.

He said, "I came out here to bring the taste of Nozuhara to the people. I wanted to put my cooking skills to use." (Mr. Mori)

The chef at Notsuharu Shokudo is Hidefumi Kataoka. The dishes he prepares are "inexpensive, yet all of them are delicious," according to customers.

The overwhelmingly good cost-performance ratio is no wonder.

The store is like a baseball stadium Connection with the Oita B-Rings

Oita has a professional baseball team that is loved by the community. That team is the Oita B-Rings, which was established in 2020. In fact, Mr. Mori is also the president of the team, and his desire to "convey the appeal of the B-Rings to as many people as possible" is also reflected in Notsuharu Shokudo. The first thing that struck me when I entered the restaurant was that it looked just like a baseball stadium! It looks like a baseball stadium! The walls were covered with a view from behind the back nets, and the uniforms of the B-Rings were on display.

The players also come to eat at the restaurant. Even Seiichi Uchikawa, who used to be a member of our team, enjoyed eating here. Mr. Mori told us with a smile like a baseball boy.

At the Betsudai Kosan Stadium in Oita City, the team's home stadium, Notsuharu Shokudo's fried chicken and curry are served at games as "stadium meshi" (ballpark meals). The taste of the restaurant is said to be very popular there as well.

At night, the restaurant operates as the "B-RINGS SPORTS BAR. However, the idea of being a customer's friend remains unchanged at night as well. The all-you-can-drink price with a course meal is 3,000 yen. And the time is unlimited (!). You can enjoy the same delicious food as during the day while having as much fun as you want.
